Inkredible backgrounds, lyrics don't mean anything

I hate the lyrics, in my opinion they suck. Give them some meaning and stop rapping about stuff like that. It totally ruined the song for me and I'm sure alot of other people. have you ever heard of flobots? They don't go as hard core on the beats and stuff, but they know how to write lyrics. just a suggestion

sorry if i was sort of hard on the review, but that's just what i think. the backgrounds are incredible though.

long intro, but this is my type of music!!

I feel like you could use a bit more fx in the beginning during the long intro.

As a matter of fact, this really sounds like a song that would be a perfect match for the vocal style in "what is love" You should consider getting a few vocalists to do a collab on this, and have them take the place of the lead synth/add more decoration.

I LOVE making minor songs, and this really captured a minor techno feel.

The fact that it's so simple helps too..but i'm wondering if adding more decoration would help it out.

All in all, great potential, and it's pretty good by it's self as well. You have a lot of room to build on this too though, so just take that into consideration ;)

btw, i make music as well, would you mind checking out a few of my songs? You seem like you know what you're doin' ;)

Great response my friend. Im actually going to sleep now but tomorrow I will be sure to see what you have. =]

nice post-grunge style

All you need is lyrics!! This song is amazing as it is, but you really need a singer in this song. someone with a voice texture like the singer from QOTSA, or a playful band like Franz Ferdinand. I think that would be the perfect touch to it. Great job!! Just one question..did you record this through actual guitars and drums?

Foxycow responds:

real guitars and fake drums and basss sorry i took so long to respond

dark...intense syths, my style of music!

I could see this being played in the background for the end of any type of video game really. It's pretty neat. I think that you could add some effects to the synth solo at 1:10, that might add to some of the substance to the song, like a small buildup. Other than that, it's got all of the makings to a boss level! Great Job!

JohnLeprechaun responds:

Excellent. Thanks for the helpful review.

lol wow, not bad for just sitting at an applestore

I use garage band for all of my songs, and i must be honest with you. I've never heard anything this 8-bitty come out of it either. I'm assuming that you used loops and the keyboard? It's pretty awesome!

btw, i make music as well, would you mind reviewing a song of mine?

pumodi responds:

The synths i used were the lightning bolt synth and one of the really bitty synth basses that come with garageband. They might be from the jam packs but im not sure. It wasn't my computer.

Sure, ill give your music a listen.

EDIT: I actually think it's called lightning rod not lightning bolt.

great layering and stuckinyourheadability x(

Lol, this song is awesome! I can see all sorts of people getting pissed off because this song is stuck in their head. I especially loved the synthesized horns xD Maybe make a techno version of it?

btw, i make music as well. would you mind reviewing a song of mine? thanks :)

weird name, awesome song ^_^

Love it! my favorite part is the lead synths towards the end of the song. it sounds like it would fit a cheap arcade game pretty well. I thought you did a great job with it, but it could use a bit of detailing. I think that it could use a more interesting bass line, more dynamic contrasts and shifts, and less generic drumbeats. Other than that, great job! just needs to be tuned up, and given some attitude details you know?.

btw, i make music as well (garageband) would you mind reviewing a song of mine?

JohnLeprechaun responds:

Wow, that was a very meaty review. I agree with pretty much everything you said, and I'd be glad to review a song of yours. (BTW, in the time that it took for us to both type this, I've uploaded another song.)

got sort of boring...

The mixing and blending of the notes was cool (didn't really like the fact that it was all synthesized), but it just didn't really go anywhere....I suppose that it's more of a background. my advice for you is to put some lyrics or something to it. That might make it easier to listen to.

OpenLight responds:

Thanks for the score and the pointers. I know it didn't really "go anywhere," but that's how it was intended. It's a prelude, somethat that'd precede something much larger.

But, I agree. It did get a little boring at times, but only if in the wrong mood.

I would not agree with adding Lyrics, for preludes tend to not have lyrics, or at least these kinds of preludes.

Thanks!

I have no problems with it...

It's exactly the same thing as the mario theme. Rather than a remix, this seemed more like it was just transcribed to me. It's a great song, a lot of fun to listen to, but the question is: will you ever make it your own? Try doing that, and your reviews will be more constructive, because now it's just the mario song. as far as making the song, it was perfect! just if you wanna do a remix, make it your own ;)

i make music as well, mind reviewing a song of mine? thanks!

Tix92 responds:

Thanks for the review :) and yeah it sound exactly like the mario original song but with a other sound. this is kinda like a test something i wanna make a remix kinda like drum n bass style but first i had to make this :P

astounding!

I've never remixed a song before, but if there ever was an amazing remix of tetris, this would be it. I LOVE how it starts out with the original sound and changes to the rave version of it. great job, can't wait to hear more!

btw, you seem to know what you're doing, so if you have time, could you review my newest song? thanks :)

Unrl responds:

=P Thanks for reviewing! And I will check out your song soon!
