WOW. Greatly improved!!

The first two thirds of it are still pretty repetitive, but not in a bad way. i think you nailed the effects and variety of sounds, even though you used the same theme a lot. the synth at 0:48 felt a little empty, so it caught my attention. maybe add something there, or just make sure it doesn't go back that that synth by itself in 1:02. A flat out pause in the song for that part at 1:02 might sound really good.

synth at the beginning could be used again? up to you

chimes are still a little bit loud at 1:24. maybe add some effects to the chimes? it's up to you, it just seems a little out of place to me with everything else electronic.

Just minor details on this one. you could leave it as it is, or you could just refine it a bit, if you feel like it ;)

You improved this song incredibly. I'm very impressed. And considering that you just started in November, just think about how good you'll be in this next year! Keep up the great work!!

Jnr1114 responds:

Ok, thanks! I will probably just replace this upload with a new one. This one already has good votes so I wouldn't want to ruin it :P

Main theme is pretty cheesy

I think that everything around the main theme is really good. The feel that i get from everything else besides the main theme (part it starts out with) has more of a resentful/sentimental feel to it. The main theme just doesn't really fit with the rest of the song, for me anyways. The part that starts at 1:33 is really good. You nailed the genre, but I think the styles could be extended on from either side (the beggining theme, or the progressive and resentful/sentimental parts of the song)

Great music though. I can't believe you just started in november. that's incredible

Jnr1114 responds:

The main theme for me was a little skippy. That is why I didn't like it.

At 1:33, it was most favorite melody I have made so far. I think it is beautiful, I think I got lucky :p

Hopefully I will improve, feels like I am getting nowhere :(
Thanks for the review!

I think i reviewed this one before

It's got almost a chinese feel to it. I love the progression and rythms, and the percussion adds a really nice touch to it. As far as suggestions go, i think that the piano is a little stiff. Like, you can tell it was made on a program, so if you got on a grand piano or something, it would sound really really really cool. Great job. everything i would say was pretty much covered by ac371 :P

Jnr1114 responds:

Yeah. I am very disappointed on the piano. With track 3, I used a new one which I like. I need to re upload this one with the new piano and maybe do some velocity changes.

Makes for a great combination

Lol, this is awesome. for some reason it reminds me of one of those space-anime clips, but not in a bad way. The synth is pretty awesome and relaxed, but intense at the same time. I seriously think that if you keep on making music like this, you could make it really far in music. recording companies, ddr features, stuff like that.

(psst, i think you're better than paragon X9, but don't tell anybody!)

I think you've reviewed my music before, but if you wouldn't mind, could you check out some of the new stuff i've made? thanks!

Fantomenk responds:

Thanks man, i wont say a word :P..

ofcourse ill take a look at your work!

Fantastic. did you play this on keyboard???

This really sounds like something that symphony x would write if the song wasn't heavy metal. Great job on the drums, but the bass drum can be a little overwhelming at times. The bass is really good, I gotta give you mad props on that! I try to go out of my way to make an extensive bass line, but this is really, REALLY good.

Suggestions for later in the song:
maybe go into a bass solo along with the drums? I know the main focus is the harpsichords, but i think it would be an interesting refrain.

Maybe a call and response section?

Feels like it could use a bit more flow and extension from that teeny little synth in the background. maybe you could go into a bridge with that. it would make opportunity for a nice buildup.

Add a guitar. Like really....do it now xD

Would you mind reviewing a few songs of mine? thanks!

Kogasu responds:

No, sadly, whatever little talent I have lies within my guitar.

The Bass drum is almost completely why I call this song incomplete. I'm still sort of working on that and some of the other stuff in there too. I love making crazy bass lines :D! thanks for commenting on that. I always seem to think the bass volume is way to low and I want it to be a part of the song just like every other instrument.

I'll sonsider those suggestions. I never thought about a bass solo but maybe.

Thanks for reviewing :D

interesting fifth background...

I'm having a hard time deciding on this song.

The bass line is incredible...PERIOD. I don't think i could ever make a bass line like that! The lead synth is really good too. DON'T take it out!!

Mixing is really nice, you got a reggae/ cheesy fight game pick your person feel to it, you know?

Pretty authentic stuff, but i gotta say, adding some more of your own fx to it might help the general effect. originality is hard to find in music, and adding it to your music can make or break it. Just try it out and see where it goes ;)

You're really good, would you mind reviewing a song or two of mine for me? thanks!

Kogasu responds:

Oh wow thanks. You noticed my bassline . I dunno but something just makes me want to make bass lines more technical so it's, usually, fun to make up something like that but it can be a bit time consuming.

Oh yes, I know what you mean with the whole cheesy fight game feel to it. It's weird, it sort of makes me think of Tekken or something sometimes.

Well thanks for the advice and stuff and yes I shall review some of yours too :D

Thanks for the review.

Inkredible backgrounds, lyrics don't mean anything

I hate the lyrics, in my opinion they suck. Give them some meaning and stop rapping about stuff like that. It totally ruined the song for me and I'm sure alot of other people. have you ever heard of flobots? They don't go as hard core on the beats and stuff, but they know how to write lyrics. just a suggestion

sorry if i was sort of hard on the review, but that's just what i think. the backgrounds are incredible though.

traumatik1 responds:

get fucked
all my lyrics got meanin
if you could transform ur emotion into lyrics u would understand
but its straight u jus a dum dum diddy dick head ^.^

oh and i cant believe i forgot to say this earlier but Flobots r wack..and so r u ^.^ k done

long intro, but this is my type of music!!

I feel like you could use a bit more fx in the beginning during the long intro.

As a matter of fact, this really sounds like a song that would be a perfect match for the vocal style in "what is love" You should consider getting a few vocalists to do a collab on this, and have them take the place of the lead synth/add more decoration.

I LOVE making minor songs, and this really captured a minor techno feel.

The fact that it's so simple helps too..but i'm wondering if adding more decoration would help it out.

All in all, great potential, and it's pretty good by it's self as well. You have a lot of room to build on this too though, so just take that into consideration ;)

btw, i make music as well, would you mind checking out a few of my songs? You seem like you know what you're doin' ;)

jk182 responds:

Great response my friend. Im actually going to sleep now but tomorrow I will be sure to see what you have. =]

nice post-grunge style

All you need is lyrics!! This song is amazing as it is, but you really need a singer in this song. someone with a voice texture like the singer from QOTSA, or a playful band like Franz Ferdinand. I think that would be the perfect touch to it. Great job!! Just one question..did you record this through actual guitars and drums?

Foxycow responds:

real guitars and fake drums and basss sorry i took so long to respond

dark...intense syths, my style of music!

I could see this being played in the background for the end of any type of video game really. It's pretty neat. I think that you could add some effects to the synth solo at 1:10, that might add to some of the substance to the song, like a small buildup. Other than that, it's got all of the makings to a boss level! Great Job!

JohnLeprechaun responds:

Excellent. Thanks for the helpful review.
